Name: Alastor
Door: Left

Canon: Hazbin Hotel
Canon Point: End of Season One Episode 7, Hello Rosie!

Age: 30s
Appearance: [here]
*In canon he's close to 7 feet tall, but one of his capabilities is the alteration of himself and his clothing. This would allow him to make himself tall (around 6'3'') without being way too tall.

History: [here]
CR AU (Optional): n/a

Personality:
Positive Trait: Assertive In all regards, Alastor initially comes off as polite (aside from ignoring personal space) and charismatic. He's also a clever conversationalist though his references can be a bit dated (he died sometime in the 1930s before becoming a sinner demon). But he's fully aware of that fact and isn't adverse to poking a bit of fun at himself or brushing off mild ribbing that's directed his way. That being said, he doesn't take shit from people and will put them in their place if he's able to, which happens more often than not.

He can also be cleverly convincing, sussing out people's desires to use to his advantage, which is how he became the sponsor of the Hazbin Hotel in the first place. Despite it technically belonging to Charlie, Alastor considers himself her co-owner and is perfectly comfortable with making changes to the interior's design at his leisure. This is shown by the green 'modifications', such as the concierge desk and bar that Husk manages.

Negative Trait: Sadistic One of the reasons why he's the most feared Overlord in hell is because of his capacity for sheer sadism. When he arrived as a virtual nobody, he quickly climbed the ranks by overtaking territory and kidnapping the demons who controlled them, never for them to be seen again. Not seen, but definitely heard from, as he would broadcast their screams from his radio tower on live air. It is heavily implied that he tortured and ate them alive. Being a deer-human hybrid, he gives off big wendigo energy with cannibalism being included. He also reacts very negatively to being disrespected, such as in Episode 5 when Husk mentions that he's 'also on a leash', which results in him threatening to tear the former Overlord's soul apart.

He seems to have no limits or concerns about how menacing he can come off as, as he lets comments slip about how he can force people to live at the hotel if he truly wants to, or hurt others at a whim. The smile he puts on does little to cover up his capacity for violence, and in fact, only makes his remarks more disturbing and unhinged before he snaps back into his more 'pleasant' persona.

When truly threatened, his first instinct is to kill all of his opponents without a second thought, especially if they're considerably weaker than himself. This is shown when Mimsy is pursued by 'loan sharks' at the hotel who proceed to damage it and frighten the other residents. Alastor uses the opportunity to send a warning out to hell's other residents to 'remind them why he's here' before he proceeds to transform and dismember them. It's also shown in the one-off, supplemental comic titled "The Radio Demon" that his morals regarding who he sticks up for are not entirely understood, but he dislikes it when other people threaten to harm those he somehow views as having 'a fairer nature', by killing a butcher who was about to assault a sheep-demon.

Negative Trait: Manipulative Alastor is incredibly good at finding ways to get what he wants. Most everything he does is for his own entertainment and personal gain, and if that entails orchestrating things a bit to make them more fun then he is willing to sacrifice others' comfort for that cause. In episode one, he creates a commercial for the hotel without being asked to do so. It is purposefully unflattering because he's poking fun, but also wants to see how Charlie and Vaggie will react to see if they become inspired to make their own.

Charlie herself is his personal project, as she is considerably more powerful but naive and easily influenced. In episode 7 during the song, Ready for This, one of Alastor's lines while looking at Charlie is, "she's filled with potential that I could guide", hinting that he is very much invested in shaping her for his own benefit.

Admittedly, there are some people out of his reach who are resistant to his false charms. He's perfectly fine with making enemies, as his closest rivals are the Vees and Vox in particular, who's the TV/technology demon to counter his radio abilities. Apparently, Vox had asked him to join the team but was rudely declined by Alastor and has taken it as a personal slight ever since, much to Alastor's delight. He genuinely seems to despise Vox, so anything that gets under the other demon's skin is fair game as far as he's concerned.

Vaggie and Husk, too, know that he's evil but he doesn't view them as much of a threat to his well-being. With Vaggie in particular, he seems to find her hostility funny rather than dangerous, as he knows that she's too invested in Charlie and her hotel to be a problem, as Charlie is dependent on Alastor's help.

Negative Trait: Power-Driven Everything Alastor does is to advance his status in hell, and he has even gone so far as to make a deal for his soul with a much more powerful someone (hitherto unknown in canon) for, presumably, some irresistible advantage. He has mixed feelings about this deal, as it has somehow constrained him in ways he's resentful of, as he says in Episode 8, "I'm hungry for freedom like never before" and "the constraints of my deal surely have a backdoor", implying that he's actively looking for a way to circumvent it.

All on his own, however, he's still extremely capable and powerful, though far from the most in ranking, as Lucifer, the Sins, and Goetia-royalty all sit in the upper tiers above him. Even so, he isn't afraid to pick fights with people who could theoretically wipe the floor with him, especially (and perhaps surprisingly) Lucifer himself, as seen in Episode 5. And so far, the only being to have bested him in a fight is Adam, an equally powerful angel. Alastor fought a bit too cockily with him, leaving an opening for Adam to deliver a near-fatal blow.

Alastor isn't invincible and is keenly aware of that, which makes him all the more greedy for absolute dominance.

Powers and Abilities: Alastor has a whole host of powers at his disposal, most notably:
Flexibility - Alastor has been shown to move his body in ways that sometimes defy physics, like turning his head around at 180 degrees.

Umbrakinesis (Shadow Manipulation) - The ability to summon and manipulate shadows as he desires, he can also use them to hide his presence. He also can create shadow shields that cover a specific area, and deflect outside magic and weapons (aside from extremely powerful ones).
*I'm okay with nerfing the shadow shield or greatly reducing its ability

Eldritch/Demon Magic - Ability to turn into a much larger demon form, as well as produce tentacles from his back and shadow creatures. He can conjure up simple items as well as transport or teleport other beings from one place to another. And of course, make demonic contracts of exchange. When using magic, symbols similar to voodoo veve float around him.
*I am fine with nerfing some of this, especially his giant form as this would be a bit OPed for the setting, as well as being able to conjure items.

Pyrokinesis - Alastor summons a ball of fire to distract Charlie as he shoves Vaggie away before starting his reprise.
*Fine with limiting this to small flames or such

Phytokinesis - As shown in The Radio Demon comic, Alastor can make plants wilt with a single stare.

Radiowave Manipulation - He can hijack radio signals and broadcast his voice through them from anywhere at any time, though he vastly prefers to be inside a radio station to do so.

Acoustokinesis - Alastor can put a radio effect on his voice that he can have at different levels of volume and pitch, sometimes distorting or deepening his voice to intimidate others. He can also project various types of radio sound effects onto his cane, such as laughter, booing, or the sounds of his victims screaming, and can have his cane speak as well.

Deal Making - Beng an Overlord, he can make deals to harness souls to do his bidding, which is how he's able to bring both Husk and Niffty to the hotel to work as its staff. He can also make smaller deals (not for souls) that are still binding settlements to be collected at some future date.
*I'm going to nerf his soul-deal abilities but still make it possible for him to make deals for favors.

Photographic/Video Distortion - Alastor's appearance, mostly over the face, becomes covered with a distorted glitch effect in all videos and photos.

Inventory: His radio cane, which he uses to filter his voice and provide sound effects.
